As part of a compromise agreement reached between lawyers David Mizrahi and Orli Ben Ami and the Carmelton company that operates the Carmel tunnels, the company will return 3 million shekels to fined drivers. And from now on you will start informing the drivers that they are traveling without a subscription within a few days, so that they do not accumulate fines.
After legal proceedings that were conducted for about five years, between the lawyers David Mizrahi and Orli Ben Ami, who represent drivers who were fined thousands of shekels for passing through the Carmel tunnels without a subscription, as part of a class action lawsuit, and the Carmelton company that operates the Carmel tunnels, the parties reached an understanding and signed about two months ago A compromise agreement that was implemented in the last few days.
As part of the agreement, it was decided that the Carmelton company will return NIS 3 million to drivers who were fined for traveling in tunnels without a subscription, and that from now on it will begin to inform the drivers that they are traveling without a subscription within a few days, so that they do not accumulate fines.

Lawyers David Mizrahi and Orli Ben Ami told Hai Fa - the news corporation:
"After legal proceedings that were conducted for about five years, including the rejection of the appeal submitted by the Carmel Tunnels to the Supreme Court, we were able to put an end to the fact that the Carmel Tunnels sent the message to drivers who drove without a subscription (usually by mistake since they changed cars, they mistakenly believed that a subscription to Route 6 was also valid for tunnels, etc.) only after more than a month. During all that time, the drivers continued to travel without a subscription and accumulated thousands of shekels in fines. The claim of the claim, which was accepted, was that if they had known that they traveled without a subscription and received a fine, they would have stopped doing so immediately. Thanks to the class action, the Carmel tunnels will reimburse the drivers who paid fines for NIS 3 million. Also, from now on, drivers will be notified that they are traveling without a subscription within a few days, so that they do not accrue fines. The restitution to the drivers will be done automatically."
From the Carmel tunnels, the news was delivered to Hai Fa-Corporation:
According to the toll road regulations established by the state, passing through a subscription lane in the Carmel Tunnels requires registration as a subscription before making the transition. Registering as a subscriber does not involve payment or any obligation and prevents the payment of compensation and reimbursement of expenses as stipulated by law. The settlement agreement, its essence and the group of those entitled to it, were published in various media and on the Carmel Tunnels website.
It wasn't enough for them. A customer with a subscription changed cars and did not update them, they send her a message to update. But charge 250 for the trip she made. Even though they have a payment method and they know about the new vehicle, otherwise how did they send a message to update? Looks like another case for representational printing.
To this day, the Carmel Tunnel company continues to add fines without notifying the drivers that they arise without a subscription, I made a subscription, today I have accumulated 6 invoices with fines, theft from the people, as if they lack something to pay for, it is not enough that there are traffic jams and fines for traffic! !!!
Even today they send fines without any warning... I received a bill today for 449 NIS for 4 trips of which over 330 NIS were fines.
What fun, keep entering them..
It's amazing that there are lawyers who know how to help all citizens.
