A month has passed since the beginning of the school year, the holidays have passed, and there is still no teacher in the 6th grade. The students' parents are worried.
3 days before the start of the school year - she left
According to the parents of students in the 3th grade at the "Alia" anthroposophical school in Bat Galim, the class teacher decided to leave XNUMX days before the start of the school year, claiming that a situation had arisen for her at the school, due to which she could not continue working there.
"I still can't believe we were left without a teacher," says one of the fathers in the class, who was very involved in the parents' struggle from the beginning. "For the past two years, when the children were in grades 4-5, the teacher educated them. A few days before the start of the school year, the teacher informed the principal that she wanted to go on leave and would not start the school year. At first we thought it was good, but little by little we began to realize that we were in trouble."
According to the father, he managed to find a teacher available for the school year, so he gave up. The parents hoped that she would be the teacher of the class. In practice, the teacher's salary was not approved, so she continued to receive a salary from the school. "The principal of the school had to find a solution, and the only solution he had was to unite the two classes," says the father.

The parents of both classes objected
"One day after the teacher's departure, there was a joint Zoom call between the management team and the two classes," explains one of the parents, who is also prominent in the struggle, "the principal announced the unification of the classes, and the parents of the class we were supposed to join strongly protested and threatened to leave the school. Parents from the class also Ours expressed opposition. The director claimed that there was no other option, since it is impossible to find an educator on such short notice." He says.
"The next day, the principal canceled the teacher's suspension, so we approached one of the teachers who had educated and taught at the school two years ago with great success, and she immediately agreed. The idea of bringing her was welcomed by the teaching staff, the principal and of course the parents. The manager took the trouble to explain to us that this is an excellent solution, but we began to suspect that it was taking time, for some reason."
Students left for other settings
"Uncertainty arose from the situation and there was still no teacher, and then parents started looking for other settings for their children. There are even parents who claimed that they were leaving because of the management's behavior towards the teacher who abandoned the children. How did a situation arise that three days before the start of school, a teacher left? In the meantime, children left And currently there are only 10 students left in the class. The principal claims that the unification of the classes is for the children's benefit."
Frictions between the students of the classes
"We claim that we deserve a teacher for the class, even if it is a small number of children, and according to what we have been told, there is a possibility of a small class, especially during the Corona period. It should be understood that over the years there have been frictions and fights between the students of the classes, and we fear the difficulties of acclimatization in this important year. Our class is unified and cohesive and transferring the students to the second class, under their teacher, will hurt them."

need to prepare for seventh grade
"You have to remember that this is a year of preparation for the 7th grade, the children are going to move to other settings next year (there is no continuation of the division at the "Alia" anthroposophical school), and we don't want them to engage in a war of adaptation instead of narrowing the gaps that have already been created in the study material. Today (Wednesday 29/9/21) the principal of the school sent a letter, in which he announced that he had decided on the unification of the classes."
The Ministry of Education responded:
We operate according to standard procedures. As for the case in question, it should be noted that the number of students in the class justifies the standard of only one standard class and this class has a teacher, in accordance with the procedures. The school management will continue to promote dialogue together with the parents of the class. Successfully.
The teacher's right to go on vacation. It is the job of the system to find a replacement. And why is it so hard to find a replacement? Because the conditions in the system drive away the elite teaching staff: overcrowded classrooms, countless assignments, great responsibility on the shoulders of the educator, overbearing parents, hostile communication, lack of budgets. An assisting team that many times seems to have been collected from the street, with no connection to education and professional responsibility that only burdens that educator or kindergarten teacher. Our path is not easy. The Ministry of Education needs an overhaul from the ground up and a massive reform that will be built in collaboration with Andy the teaching in the field and decisions and assumptions from above that are disconnected from what is actually happening will not be made.
May we all have success
I just can't believe the parents are managing the affairs "a big disaster" the educator left what mature people don't understand that there are life circumstances that sometimes cannot be rejected people are so "busy with themselves to the point of cruelty just shame and shame... oh my, our children will study in a big class..." As parents we give them the opportunity to learn to overcome and face difficulties in order to get a chance to grow stronger and grow from the situation.
The parents became worse than the students
You can't teach that way
In the end you will be left without teachers
It is very interesting that they did not investigate the reason for the teacher's departure. What a situation she had to leave!
It's not strange. In our sector, every Monday and Thursday, teachers, especially female teachers, are recalled to go to school at the beginning of this year. Does it seem absurd to you?
The Ministry of Education must put an end to this horrifying phenomenon.
Those who want to go to school must do so at the end of the previous school year and not in the 90th minute.
This is exactly what happens when parents intervene who will be the educator. And they will bring their "own" teacher.
Teachers don't just leave the education system!!!
Any teacher who has minimal self-respect and a backbone will not survive in what is now called an education system...and will soon be called the education complex.
Must be an educator. The Ministry of Education should approve a standard.
