Sometimes right under our noses, in our little Land of Israel, and maybe even inside the city, a particularly magical place is hidden, if only we find out about it, we will feel as if we have arrived in another land. Such are the bridges that hang in the eagle.
This is a KKL-Junk park, which is located in the eastern part of the Carmel Reserve, in the city of Nesher.
In the park you can find a lovely playground, picnic tables, special sports facilities that are a bit reminiscent of Ninja Israel and a stunningly beautiful walking route in nature in Nahal Katia, called Derech Uri.
But the highlight of the place, the real reason to come here are two long metal bridges that pass over Nahal Katia (we're in the Haifa area, the river is Nahal Tsenev).
The bridges are beautiful and impressive, and when you cross them, you feel as if you have reached a forest in Europe, and between us, with the current corona situation, this may be the closest to abroad we will get at the moment.
When you see the bridges, you don't know whether to be amazed by them or to fear crossing them. I suggest that you just take your time, step slowly on the bridge, and you will see how little by little the fear in your heart turns into some other, strong, powerful, addictive feeling.
We will start our trip in an organized parking lot, and from there we will choose whether to go down the stairs towards the picnic tables and the facility parks, or to continue on the dirt road up to the bridges.
If we chose the bridges (and obviously at some point we chose them...), we will pass the cafe and enter nature. The walk is very clear, and there is no room for error. It's an easy and comfortable walk on a wide dirt road, where even carts pass, with white-black-white trail markings.
After about 600 meters we will reach the first bridge. There are a total of two bridges in the place, about 150 meters apart. You can choose which bridge to cross and which bridge to return to.
From experience - choose to go through each of them several times. The return is made the same way we arrived.
Please note that the road to the bridges is not shaded, so it is not recommended on hot sunny days.
parking: There is an arranged parking lot. Please note - on Saturdays the parking lot is very busy.
appropriate: Couple, family, solo traveler, group. You can reach the bridges with carts.
cost: Free.
Making an appointment: No need to book in advance.
Arrival by Visa: Hanging Bridge Eagle Park.
The parking is misleading. Above blue and white. not below. Then you think if not blue and white then free. So you grab a report and the explanation - there is a sign above the entrance. If it's just a sign then why not paint half and half.
Lena is right,
The whole area is magical.
The Uri road that runs through Nahal Katia is crazy, and beyond that in a second you are cut off from the outside world
It is lined with signs, explanations and activities, and works on all the senses.
Aspire to all those involved in the craft????
Right!
The cave is part of the Uri road that passes under the bridges.
If you're lucky, will you meet a rock rabbit there?
Thank you dear!
Is our city stunning and full of charm?
The park also has a small prehistoric cave. Anne descends to Mata with the stream, the road is a bit difficult and rocky, but we managed to cross it with the 5 and 9 year old children. There is a marking, I don't remember what the color of the path is.
Shimotslav, the parking lot is paid.
Paid parking!!!! That is really rude!!!!
First... you shouldn't give up on continuing the experience. After crossing the eastern bridge, there is a slightly steep path that descends into Wadi Katia... and construction, you are cut off from the outside world.. Cross another wadi bridge and enter a shady grove of cattails and oaks and walk along its bank, and after several hundred meters cross again to the north shoulder and continue walking until you meet the lower part of the parking lot and the park with the facilities. In winter you will even see the flow of water in the channel and an impressive and diverse bloom. While walking along the shoulder you will meet a combination of olive trees and planted Canarian pine trees. Beyond that... the park is not just a place of recreation but an example of cooperation between the Municipality of Nesher and the Kekel which involved an agreement to reduce the future option for construction in favor of the park, and for that respect to both bodies for the cooperation and to the Municipality of Nesher for meeting the high costs of maintaining the park over the years since its construction in 2005. Signed: Hana Yaffe landscape architect and park planner. Enjoy, and keep the site clean.
Add to the article that there is a circular walking route from the bridges that returns to the facilities park for walkers in a magical forest just like in Europe from which you can return and not necessarily on the route where we went towards the bridges
Shimmi Chav the amazing bridges smoke every Monday and Thursday Kekel closes the bridges for maintenance purposes
It's a shame to arrive and see that the bridges are closed this week. The bridges are closed
Shabbat Shalom
There is no proper signage to get to the site. Too bad. Eagle chives, for your care.
Great idea! ! !
Thanks!
Sometimes because of cases that happened here in Israel, I am not sure that it is 100 percent safe to cross the bridges.
The champion stone??
It's worth a trip. Shabbat Shalom
