The Haifa District Attorney's Office (Criminal) filed today (20/07/21) with the city's district court, an indictment against Noor Wachd (21), Joan Zabidat (21) and Adam Omar (19) residents of Haifa, and against Shadi Mahmoud (24) and Rani Abu Tarif (19), whose place of residence is prohibited from publication. Due to their involvement in the attack on a Haifa resident, Benny Salman, on a nationalist background during the May 21 riots.
As I recall, last May we reported in Hai Pa on the attack on a Haifa resident, Benny Salman. In the exclusive interview in which Rashonim interviewed the son of the wounded man in the hospital bed, he told how when he went to visit his mother one evening, he was attacked by a number of young Arabs for being Jewish, during the riots of May 21 against the background of Operation "Guardian of the Walls". My son was seriously injured, and with the rest of his strength he went to a house nearby to ask for help and there he lost consciousness, then he woke up in Rambam Hospital and underwent several surgeries due to the many injuries he had.
Today (20/07/21) the Haifa district attorney's office submitted to the district court in the city an indictment against Noor Wachd (21), Joan Zabidat (21) and Adam Omar (19) residents of Haifa, and against Shadi Mahmoud (24) and Rani Abu Tarif ( 19), whose place of residence is prohibited from publication, attributing to them offenses of A terrorist act of aggravated sabotage, Deliberate damage to a vehicle motivated by racism, and an act of recklessness and negligence motivated by racism - Each according to his part, for their involvement in the attack on Haifa resident Benny Salman (48) and the destruction of several vehicles on a racist nationalist background.
The events described in the indictment took place in May of this year, in the midst of a wave of violent riots throughout the country on a nationalist-racist background, which included attacks by the police and security forces and on Jewish and Arab citizens.
The sequence of events in the indictment
The indictment, submitted through attorney Ilit Epstein, states that on May 12, as part of a procession on Allenby Street in Haifa, in which they carried the Israeli flag, stones were thrown at the building where the accused Wached lives, who was not at his home. The police immediately arrived at the scene and took control of the procession. When Wached was informed of what had happened and following a rumor that spread that Jews would come to damage his house, Wached called the other defendants to come to his house, and they arrived with masks in their possession to prevent identification.
The following night, some of the defendants who left Wachd's house threw stones and fireworks at a house with an Israeli flag hanging on it, near the Salonkai Synagogue in Haifa, and also deliberately hit vehicles parked there with clubs, out of a motive of racism.
Later, the defendants, along with other masked people, attacked a 48-year-old man with blows, punches and kicks, while he was lying on the ground after being asked if he was Arab or Jewish. The accused caused him serious injuries and left him on the ground while he was unconscious. As a result of the attack, the complainant suffered serious injuries, fractures to his face and ribs, and he was hospitalized for two weeks.
The investigation was conducted in the investigative unit for combating regional crime in the Israel Police and the General Security Service.
At the same time, the prosecution asked the court to detain the accused until the end of the proceedings against them. Judge Nitzan Salman today extended their detention until another decision.
Benny Salman, a resident of Haifa who was attacked, tells Lahi Fa - the news corporation:
I'm adjusting a bit to a different life, today I had a psychologist, yesterday physical therapy, tomorrow I have a committee, still pains when eating in my jaw. Sleep is no longer sleep, constant fatigue all the time, nose and jaw surgeries await me. I don't wish this on anyone, everything you eat is liquid and it suffocates you, it takes about an hour to eat anything.
The municipality came at first, arranged for me at an unemployment office and helped me and said that I was injured and there is someone from the National Insurance who is helping me. My son continues, it's helplessness, the most normal thing you're used to doing, I can't drink coffee! It takes forever. I wouldn't get out of bed from the depression, and what you see is only liquids and dreaming at night about Borax.
It bothers me that they call it riots
Now it bothers me that they call it riots, three days ago you see them walking around destroying property, synagogues, burning flags and looking for Jews to kill. All this happens in wartime when Israel is attacked and they support the enemy, except for anti-Semitism there is nothing in it. It's simple to take a step against the state, all the support there is in Gaza, and what's more serious is that three of the accused are from Haifa, it could be that the person who demonstrated against you the night before in the morning is selling you shawarma.
Now it is the test of the courts
In my opinion, I need a computerized show trial so that they can see and be seen, otherwise they will throw a Molotov cocktail at your house. During all these disturbances for four days there was not a single policeman, they did what they wanted, if they didn't see that there was a government here. I think this is now the test of the courts, what interests me is to see the punishment they will be given, otherwise why did they work so hard to catch them. I believe that if they give a ridiculous punishment, next time many Jews will organize and attack Arabs, because the state does not protect them, so they will take the law into their own hands.
If they here will pass this punishment, after they burned the whole boulevard here and the cars and the policemen stood helpless on the side, and the policemen came with batons and horses, people burned cars and did not touch them. Next time they might come and knock on my door, ask if I'm Arab and then attack me.
If our parents came here to establish a country that allows terrorists to murder us... it would really be better if they stayed there..
Pro-terrorist courts until proven otherwise
This is their test to see which side they support
of the murderers or of the Jewish citizens of Israel and justice
The heart is called for him. This is not normal. There is no country in which the police do not function. Why the hell do you get budgets? Why are there police officers? Dolls in uniform? next time what? Will the Arabs riot so that they control the city? The madness of these instructions from above. They killed our security and the country.
Disagree. For a plea deal, the case must be exhausted to the end, otherwise this film may repeat itself. It is forbidden for anyone, neither Jewish nor Arab, to take into their own hands a ruling of the law so that they will see and be seen and financial compensation for all the damages they have caused
The main thing is that Klish tells stories that the attackers are not residents of Haifa...
Instead of immediately dealing with the problem, she tells stories...
Do as with the pigs, a patrol of volunteers with whistles will help people defend themselves from the west.
will end in a plea deal in which they will receive a year in prison minus the time they were under arrest, six months on probation and a 10,000 NIS fine to the state coffers. If Jews had attacked Arabs, they would have received 18 years in prison, 10 NIS on probation and 500,000 NIS in compensation to the Arabs "H. Erbil in Israel has better conditions than the Jews.
We hope to hear about a proper and reasonable punishment. There was an attempted murder. They were sure they murdered a Jew. We hope they receive actual prison terms.
To boycott Arab businesses in Haifa
To the two commenters before me. You forgot that this is a court in Israel. It is clear that this will end in a plea bargain and they will receive a minimum relative to the severity of the acts. So hopes are separate and reality is separate. The reasoning for a plea bargain is "difficulties in the evidence". Follow and see.
It is great that they put their hands on them and sit in a prison until their trial begins. Beyond that, they should be punished with a long prison term
and financial compensation to the owners of the damaged vehicles and to the guy they almost killed
.and in addition when they got out of prison if they were going to be deported from the country.
These terrorists, these monsters, should be punished with a long prison term of several decades and compensation should be paid to the victim, which will help him prolong his life, only in this way will they learn that there is no wild violence on a nationalistic basis
