Travel rates in the Carmel tunnels are getting more expensive. As of Thursday 1/7/2021, these are the fares for travel in the tunnels for the segment:
Private car subscription: 8.19 NIS.
Non-subscription private car: 10.04 NIS.
Public car: NIS 30.21.
Truck: NIS 50.37.
As a result of the price increase, renewed anger arose among protest activists against the high rates in the Carmel tunnels
Ruti Benin, an activist in the protest against the Carmel Tunnels, told Lahi Fe:
I am not alone, there are many other activists with me. We have been boycotting the tunnels for over 6 years due to the excessive prices charged by the tunnels. We demand that the state nationalize the tunnels, and we have previously acted on the issue in front of a number of members of the Knesset.

From the Carmel tunnels it was given to Hai Pa in response:
The transit rates in the Carmel tunnels are set and updated in accordance with the agreement signed between Carmelton (the company that operates the tunnels - S.B.) and the state and are linked to the consumer price index.

Are there other topics besides the Carmel tunnels? For example, the traffic jam on Ha-Atzmaat St., the destruction of the cooling facility in refineries, a facility that was designated for preservation, and more.
Is the news over? There has been no news for two months. The prices in the Carmel tunnels have gone up. Does anyone do anything without grumbling?
If there was a normal mayor, the tunnels would have been open a long time ago. The owners of the tunnels have no ownership of the state's resources. It's time to nationalize the tunnels. It is a national interest. An accurate calculation will show how much damage is caused by people who, in principle, refuse to use the tunnels. The owners of the tunnels must be paid their investment and fight the hell out. Everything is based on greed.
what a fool They made an agreement with the state that if they did not earn enough, they would receive the difference from the state. That is, even if there is not even one passenger, they will receive the Athanan.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
,
Keep up the steam. They put a bar on you
most expensive
I am a subscriber and considering unsubscribing.
You did not exaggerate. And why don't the residents of Haifa have a normal discount. Disabled persons of National Insurance or the Ministry of Defense. We pay enough municipal taxes.
It's a shame that the residents of Haifa are not strong enough to confiscate the tunnels and then we'll see!!!
I have long since boycotted the trip in the tunnels! Destroyed a whole mountain, took away animals and even pigs from their living space in order to gain another minute on the drive - was it worth it?? This is the price and it also costs you and the poor pigs are invading their homes. You also wanted Klish compared to Yahav - everything is worse.
In the period after the opening of the tunnels I traveled through them even if the time saving was only 2-3 minutes minutes and sometimes just for convenience, over the years and the repeated price increases, I no longer traveled through the tunnels just for convenience and after the last increase, I only traveled through them if I saved 10 minutes or more from today I will travel in the tunnels only if in another way I will be late for a flight or a party of the same size...
Thanks and see you rarely! As far as possible!
thieves
How lucky that the prices are not round, that way you can get rid of the small money...
It's robbery in broad daylight... we need to confiscate the tunnels... stop passing through there... if not... then they'll do what they want with us... and it's really time to nationalize tunnels... which we deserved... why pay for traveling on the road at all... we pay enough property tax and taxes.. There is no limit to insolence...let's boycott..
It is not clear which component of the operators' expenses justifies the increase in price
I would indeed recommend that the Minister of Transportation check if there is a place to impose an inspector
Or alternatively subsidize part of the expenses as public transportation is subsidized.
Theft, scandal. Where else will we go????,
In many places in Europe, a fee is charged both on toll roads and on tunnels.
Whoever rented the tunnel is a private company, which needs to return the investment and make a profit, like Route 6. There is much more traffic there, so it is possible to pay back or make a profit faster than some cynics who use it.
I have no idea how the rate is determined but I guess the complainers don't either. Maybe it's reasonable in light of the above?
As a traveler, I would love to enjoy a discount or free ride, but there are no free meals.
This is a predatory company. The damage the prices shown is great. The tunnels must be adapted and submitted to the public. For example: I go to work every day, it's about NIS 500 per month. In an annual calculation, 6000 NIS. This is more than all expenses on vehicle repairs and licenses, including fuel. Someone pick up the gauntlet.
robbers I am 100% disabled in mobility.
Chaya National Insurance benefits at the age of 73 despite wanting National Insurance as someone who has worked for almost 40 years, (registered in National Insurance) with three different types of cancer, and dozens of surgeries, and I still have more planned.
My subsistence pension is an old age pension with disability supplement in the amount of…….
NIS 2877 per month only!!!
I pay (in June) over NIS 32 for a trip to the Carmel beach from Kiryat Haim Arabi.
Why???????
I think it is better not to travel in tunnels and learn a lesson.... Even so, the prices are expensive and unreasonable...
Of this, a truck is NIS 50 per trip
And this is just the beginning.
The new government intends moves that will lead to the price of everything
And the salary? Only the MK's updated
It would be better if they put up a sign - please do not drive here.
Even so, they receive a supplement for a fixed amount from the state..
The less cars drive, the less noisy they will be.. ??♂️
This is the difference between Baden Baden and Haifa. Both have tunnels only
In Eden Baden it doesn't cost money... and in general in Germany all roads are free.
