Most of the members of the Ilan basketball team are in their 50s to 70s. "We have one young player aged 20 plus, but most of our players are polio victims. The coach of the team is a young man, the son of an Ilan member, who has been volunteering with us for the past few years, Perkis says.
Hall full of fans
The hall was full of spectators and fans who flooded the stands, cheered loudly and encouraged both teams. Majd Al-Khorum, the visiting team, led at halftime, with a difference of 14 points, 32:18.
The first champion from the Arab sector
Majd Al-Khorum's team followed a strategy that kept them in a leading position for a significant portion of the time. Among the absolute majority of male players, one player stood out in particular, who scored many points in favor of the team, and at the end of the game, Majd Al Khrom even recorded a historic achievement and became the first team from the Arab sector to win the handicap basketball championship. The team won by a significant margin of 18 points - 46:28.

Hila Lauper and Moti Blitzblau, members of the Haifa City Council from the Green Party, who are particularly close to the ILAN Center, returned from the game with peak energy.
