Laying the cornerstone for the "Gan Or" regional day school and day center for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
In the presence of Kiryat Bialik Mayor Eli Dukorski, Kiryat Ata Mayor Yaakov Peretz, Zebulon Regional Council Chairman Amos Netzer, representatives of Akim Israel and the Shalem Foundation, the cornerstone was laid for the school and regional day center for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities "Gan Or" in Kfar Bialik.
This is a school for boys and girls 0-21 and an employment and leisure day center for graduates who live in the Karyotes, Haifa and surrounding communities.
The Day Center is an employment center that strives to enable all members of the community a quality of life in the communicative, physical and emotional spheres, while providing nursing care that respects the privacy of the center's residents and allows them to take responsibility for their lives.
Keren Shalem, headed by Kiryat Bialik Mayor Eli Dukorski, Approved a grant of NIS 2 million for the construction of the day center.
Keren Shalem is a joint fund of the local government center and the Ministry of Social Work and Social Services that assists in the construction, renovation and equipping of employment, leisure, housing, rehabilitation day care centers for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
