The shock and fear from the days of tensions and clashes in mixed cities, such as Haifa, still nestle deep within us. In the area of the German colony where the Mediterranean Biennale exhibition is held, you can feel how explosive the situation still is and how any minor incident can ignite and turn into a big fire.
Precisely because of this, the directors of the Mediterranean Biennale, Blue Simion Fainero and Avital Bar-Shei, initiated a meeting between youths from the Sahnin Valley and Deir Hana, to come visit the Biennale exhibition at the Wizo Haifa Academic Center and hold a human meeting with the youths from the Open School in Haifa.
The directors of the biennial tell about the meeting between the youth:
"This meeting stems from a belief in the power of art to bring about change in relationships between people and between cultures, to serve as a platform for discourse while overcoming the voices of judgment, fear and separation. The purpose of the meeting is to create among the youth common values of solidarity, tolerance and mutual respect, when everyone can have their say in a discussion in which there are no winners or losers."
Art, conversations and football
The meeting included a visit to an exhibition in which Israeli artists - Jews, Arabs and Druze and artists from the Middle East - participate, discussions in groups, and also a joint soccer game, following the victory of Maccabi Haifa in the championship.

in the sign of the peace agreements
The Mediterranean Biennale 2021 is an artistic event that takes place in the public spaces of the German Colony in Haifa. This year, in the sign of the peace agreements, artists from Bahrain, Iran, Afghanistan and Turkey are presented at the Mediterranean Biennale alongside Israeli artists, with the aim of creating a dialogue with different communities and cultural groups.

living together
The Mediterranean Biennale is celebrating a decade since it was founded in 2010, as a model for multicultural cooperation and dialogue between diverse views and opinions, of communities and of different groups. The exhibition allows dealing with relevant social issues in today's society, using art as a bridge between cultures. This year, under the title "LIVING TOGETHER—CROSSING BORDERS", the Mediterranean Biennale wishes to focus on social solidarity and delve into the perception of the city as a common public space, and wishes to preserve contacts and interpersonal relationships that cross borders.

Why "exactly now"? From this question arises a hidden political position that does not support Jewish-Arab brotherhood. It's not "right now?"…. It's "right now!!!". Bless these children who defiantly hold hands against the outburst of racist hatred. Put it in Ra: we are all brothers: Jews and Arabs. There is no difference, we are all citizens of Haifa and we all love our city and our country. And whoever tries to conflict between the two brothers will be punished for it. Contempt for the racist conflicts!! And all the compliments to the moral Jewish Arab youth who come together to demonstrate unity and a message of peace and hope. Torah will come from you. May you be blessed and may you succeed.
It is suggested to the Jewish youth to keep their eyes open, to stay alert and not to turn their backs on their new "friends".
It is very good to meet together. pleasant evening
