At the end of a police investigation, a prosecutor's statement will be submitted this morning (Monday 31/5/21) against the resident of the Kiryat who is suspected of participating in the lynching of a resident of Shafaram during the riots.
On 12/5/21, the Zebulon police officers started an accelerated investigation, upon receiving a report of a serious assault incident in Kiryat Ata, during which an 18-year-old resident of Shafaram was injured, when he drove his vehicle by the spot and was attacked by the crowd that surrounded the vehicle and threw stones at him.
In the meantime, the police officers of the Zebulon station carried out diverse investigative operations, including the use of advanced technological means, which led to the disclosure of the identity of one of the suspects, a resident of the Kiryat in his 30s, and arrested him on suspicion of involvement in the act.
The suspect's detention has been extended from time to time, and this morning, as mentioned, the Haifa District Attorney's Office will file a prosecutor's statement against him, while in the coming days an indictment will be filed against him and a request for his detention until the end of the proceedings.
The police will continue to use all the units and means at their disposal, in order to identify and arrest all those involved in order to bring them to justice.
