Following the announcement by the Supreme Monitoring Committee of the Israeli Arabs regarding a general strike in businesses and schools in the Arab settlements and mixed cities, the businesses in the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood remained closed during the day (Tuesday 18/5/21). In the other industries, such as medicine and transportation, the strike is almost imperceptible.
According to the Supreme Monitoring Committee of the Israeli Arabs, the strike came in protest of the war and the attack on the Palestinians in Jerusalem, on Sheikh Jarrah and Al-Aqsa Mosque. Against the attack on the Arab public in general and mixed cities in particular. The monitoring committee emphasizes that a civil protest with a clear political address.
Here is the place to point out the fact that the current wave of terrorism in Haifa began as a pro-Palestinian protest, against the seizure of houses in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, a protest which was sparked and turned into a wave of terrorism, by riotous groups from among the Arab public. Later, Jewish groups, from the extreme right, also jumped on the bandwagon, taking advantage of the vacuum created in the area, in the absence of police personnel, and created their own wave of terror against a peaceful Arab public, most of which had nothing to do with the wave of Arab terror.
Here you can recall the day when the protest turned into a violent riot on the part of the Arab demonstrators, a riot that ignited a wave of terror in the city:
Wadi Nisnas in Haifa, the strike of the Arab sector watch
The monitoring committee demands to "withdraw the fascist gangs from the cities", and file charges against them. Free the hundreds of Arab detainees and investigate the police violence against Arab citizens.
Before the strike, flyers in Arabic were distributed by young people in the neighborhoods of Kiryat Eliezer and Kiryat Eliyahu yesterday (Monday 17/5/21) with the caption: Strike tomorrow, arrests of only Arabs, Lod, Sheikh Jarrah, demolition of houses, Al Aqsa Mosque.
Rambam and Baged are working as usual
Rambam Hospital stated that no non-attendance was felt as a result of the announcement of the strike in the Arab sector. There are very few cases of non-attendance due to a strike of kindergartens and an unexpected problem for working mothers - but as mentioned, these are very few cases.
Even in the transportation sector, things are going as usual. The "Egged" company reported that the overwhelming majority of drivers showed up for work as planned, in order not to damage the fabric of relations with their fellow Jewish drivers, within the framework of the exemplary coexistence that prevails between them.
In the Wadi Nisnas neighborhood, businesses are on strike. All market stalls are closed, as are the shops, restaurants and other businesses.
Raja Zaatara from the Hadash movement in the Haifa municipality, a message to Lahi Pa:
It can be said that the strike in Haifa was largely successful. The response to the strike is unprecedented. It expresses a protest against the war and against what is happening in Jerusalem - but also (and perhaps mainly) against what happened in mixed cities including Haifa - the attacks by La Familia and "Death to the Arabs" gangs under the auspices of the police. The Arabs in Haifa felt that the threat had arrived right at their doorstep, literally. In Kiryat Eliezer, in Wadi Jamal - Ein Hayam, in the German colony, in Wadi Nisnas and other neighborhoods and areas where Arab citizens and their property were attacked. There was a heated debate for two days and in the end the Arab public is leaving today with an unequivocal message: we will not agree to live in fear in our city. We will not settle for less than living in full respect and equality. The strikers are exercising a civil right to express their opinion and express their protest. This is a legitimate civil right that should not be violated.
Attorney Hamudi Masri, Chairman of the Vadi Nisnas Committee:
All the market and businesses in Wadi are closed. The Supreme Monitoring Committee issued a statement that instead of demonstrations and violence, a one-day strike is preferable to calm the situation, so that everyone understands the message and we can return to the common and normal life we have known so far.
Stop presenting themselves as the victim, they are trying to achieve equality by attacking and controlling fear in other citizens? What's the point, it's scary to walk outside in the area where we live, you can't go to work in peace, Arabs throw stones and Molotov cocktails, every evening is already accompanied by the sounds of explosions and it's scary, every night we lock the whole house, after sunset we don't even dare to leave the house, our windows are An iron plate because there is nothing to do is dangerous, they don't see with their own eyes, they set fire to cans, shout, curse, in the media they are presented as the poor and the State of Israel as terrorists when the truth is the exact opposite.
Why even resort to violence? It won't solve anything and will only make it worse.
Every Jew in Haifa knows who is still violent in the streets, so that your short memory will not be forgotten.
And for all the hypocrites who will most likely come back to buy from them with a smile, try to get home before dark because that's when the wild pigs come out and they don't care about your credit card.
Haifa! Stop buying in the downtown! Remember this moment! The feeling of betrayal! These scoundrels, lick the cream, and sympathize with those who shell us, and in addition execute us! Program! Their hummus now has the taste of H! R! A!!
I'm in favor of the strike, strike forever, hunger strike please
Unnecessary strike. A kind of self-punishment that people inflict on themselves... I didn't understand what the point was or what it was supposed to change for the general public (of all nations/religions) who instead of buying today in Wadi will go to other places that do work.
Completely unnecessary, especially in this period when business owners are already struggling to recover after the corona virus.
- I personally, as a Jew, will continue to shop with Arabs and will continue to enjoy the selection of places and things that the amazing Luadi has to offer.
I happened to not be in the area today, so the strike didn't really bother me. If it happened on a day when I have errands there, I would probably be upset.
(P.S. All the rascals who 'boycott' the Arab businesses and vow not to provide them with a living - they are the first to run to the shops in Wadi and the other places adjacent to the city as soon as the crazy situation passes. So instead of throwing poison and racist poison into the air right now - it would be better to remain silent or take advantage of The time to pray for calmer days on this side and on that side) ..
Sorry for some typos due to fast typing...
excellent!!!
Every Jew in Haifa knows that all businesses in Haifa that belong to Arabs are collaborators with the enemy and should not be purchased from them. If things weren't clear enough until now, everything is clear!!@
At the end of the day the truth comes out
If we become wise consumers and dedicated and patriotic citizens we know exactly where not to buy.
Remember all your businesses. No Jew will buy from you. It's over!!! You are unnecessary in Haifa in particular and in the rest of the country in general.
Indeed as Limor's response:
The reasons for the strike are totally delusional / political! Varja Zatara knows this very well!!!
As if we are in another world - just spreading lies! We Haifa people know the whole truth!!!
Weeks/months of imposing Arab terror on the city under the auspices of the municipality. The lack of control of the law by the municipality and the police: double and triple parking on the roads of the Arab/shared neighborhoods, riots all over the city, shooting, and when Jewish groups also joined the celebration - then the Arabs remembered to cry out!
The Arab leaders continue to harbor hatred and are against the entire country and its institutions. I have not heard a word from them after the start of the Arab riots
My old family in the city - "only" 140 years.
I really felt as if I was not in Israel. Think about a route to travel at night, which does not go through the city. I travel a lot on the Carmel/Bat Galim road, through Stella Maris. No more!!, after one night I came across burning garbage cans at the Stella Maris/Hagafen intersection, and nearby - at the Hagafen/Allenby traffic light.
I have to turn around and drive around Shprincek.
And many times the road from Pliman to Bat Galim - again, it is dangerous to pass through the city, so once again I circle around the Carmel road - a huge distance and time than usual.
Calling part of the sane Arab population -
Make your voice heard without fear.
Don't let the crazy minority rule you and us
A strike is completely unnecessary. There is no need for this strike. It's a waste of time. pleasant evening.
I really sympathize with business owners. I will not come to them in order to identify with them
Did you live in fear? In Kiryat Eliezer Arab terror was the children still suffering from anxiety. What are you talking about? You expected us to be slapped and shut up after the first day that a significant group of Arabs terrorized us, so a group of Jews rose up and defended and backed up accordingly. It is written, Rise up for your slaying, and sycamore for your slaying. We didn't feel understood so good people came out for protection. As soon as Issem guarded us after two days, then none of the Jews came out. You terrorized us. What are you talking about? Do you live in fear?
Who needs this strike? completely unnecessary. pleasant evening.
Let the brainless Arabs go to the cabinet. There is no other country in the world that they enjoy like Israel. Hamas uses them as a tool and they fall into the trap. Now we will make sure that they will be on strike for the rest of their lives as a dog who buys anything from them.
There is no point in striking, even so from now on you have no job.
A Jew only buys from a Jew.
You will pay dearly for your behavior in the last week
Raja Zatra is removed from the Knesset until further notice because of an attack on a Jewish MK.
How dare he even talk about violence?!
Who will come in to buy from you?
What lies, not one Arab house was damaged. 2 synagogues were set on fire in Haifa.
Why is there no response in the article about the lies?
For a whole week, Arabs throw stones, Molotov cocktails, perform a brutal lynching on Allenby Street to a Jewish guy who returned home.
Where is the justice???
