National testing operation - olive oils
As every year, the food service at the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the olive branch of the plant council conducted a testing operation for products marked "olive oil". The oils were sampled in the various marketing channels throughout Israel and tested at the national laboratory for public health - Tel Aviv or the regional laboratory for public health - Haifa, and some at the Chemiservice laboratory in Italy. Also, taste and smell (organoleptic) tests were conducted in accordance with Israeli standard 191 for olive oil.
The results of the tests were analyzed together with the olive oil experts in Israel.
The Ministry will take the measures available to it in cases where it is found that there was a violation of the requirements of the legislation.
In the following products, the test results indicate that there are Suspicion of the presence of oil other than olive oil, and that it is not olive oil in accordance with Israeli standard 191 for olive oil.
The food service at the Ministry of Health will show zero tolerance towards cases of this type, and will continue to check the conformity of food products to the requirements of legislation and standards in Israel.

shocking!!!
There are marketing companies neighboring me and other real olive oil and mixing it with cheap and inferior imports. Some import and some sell old oil. It is very difficult to know what is in the bottle. You need to check the source that markets
Sorry for the honesty: most of you have no idea what you are talking about. (to a Jew) Pay attention to what is happening in the oil market in Spain. There were forgeries on a scale that we do not know in Israel, to the point of causing death to customers. I know this topic well!!! his sides. There are counterfeiters in Israel and abroad. There are quality oils at an international level, in Israel and abroad. Any recommendation I give here can be accused of bias and sales promotion. And so I will say again: until you do a tasting course, then most of you have no idea what a good oil is. Buy from someone you know. I also have good oils and there are less. And it also depends on the customer's preferred taste
Thank you for the information
I, as a consumer of olive oil, buy in one of the villages in the Galilee, arrive in the morning at the house of the cloth and am close to the production process of the olive oil from the beginning to the end of pressing and hermetically sealing it with plumba so that an 18-liter gallon is enough for me and my family all year round and besides, I use oil for cooking and frying with oil from the Deshan family from Kfar Merar highly recommends the quality level of the Syrian variety
There is nothing like olive tree oil or Yad Mordechai
Excavators from Israel that damage local produce and make consumers prefer foreign produce.
lol In short, if the label is stuck crooked, the oil is fake.
Enough of the nonsense, Israeli olive oil is no better than Italian or Spanish olive oil and costs the European consumer half the price.
The oil sellers respond here, buy only at a high price
. They made me laugh, the producers in Israel are a cartel under the Olive Oil Council. That's why they all sell at the same price, about NIS 40 per liter. Why do we need this union that creates a monopoly?
I try to buy only foreign products. Greek, Italian or Spanish olive oil. The chance of a wrong person cheating on me is less than the chance of a Jew cheating on me
It is advisable to buy the oil from someone you know personally or that your friends know as above. Then buy a quantity for the whole year.
Check the expiration date, it cannot exceed a year! Excellent real olive oil can last up to 3 years, closed, dark and cool, but you have to buy it from someone you know well and trust.
For many years, oil was sold with a logo of olive branches and olives.
The oil in the bottle was cloudy and probably substances that would compare to the oil as if it were olive oil. And in small letters it says "soybean oil and other vegetable oils" so it has nothing to do with olive oil.
The bottles were sold both to restaurateurs and mainly on the pilgrimage sites of "your people" by deception and cynical tizzling of the innocent.
It is important to give an article with the real and non-fake products, I personally will always go for recommendations like in the various consumer programs.
Excellent...get over a scam...the consumer pays the best of his money for quality
Licenses need to be revoked
There is no good olive oil at a low price - conclusion a good oil will pay a little more.
Olive oil like honey and many other things cannot be known to the consumer, so I only buy from reliable producers. I too would be happy to test and publish which manufacturers did come out good in the tests
It is interesting that all of the above olive oils refrain from stating on the package label:
"From the first cold pressing / an excellent class" -. This is the definition of clean olive oil - and not a mixture of cheap oils. The consumer audience should be educated to check what is written on the label - and not to purchase oil that is not indicated on it:
1- An excellent virgin
2- From first cold pressing
3- Unheated and extraction date (one and a half years, max. 2 years) - and the olive variety.
4- No plastic container packaging - only glass, dark!
You can't advertise good oils because it's free advertising, but once they do it and all the counterfeiters will be deleted!
Unknown manufacturers and consumers who don't read the labels.
Buy olive oil from reputable manufacturers and read the label.
Olive oil produced in the Golan Heights with kosher from the Carmel???
come on…
What about the place of production with the place of kashrut? It is not clear.
How complicated was it for you to first give a list of the brands according to A-B, so that KA could scan
Quickly if his preferred manufacturer appears, and only then give a long and complete breakdown of the types/packaging of the oil in question?
The swindlers need to be punished and there is no shortage of them. Buy olive oil with a standard from the Olive Council.
Is it true? I have not met with any of these oils.
By the way, Yad Mordechai olive oil and other companies are working on you. It is not Israeli olive oil, but from all kinds of countries from Europe (Bland Europe) and there is no olive oil quality control in Israel. Always check where the oil is from, and if it is monitored. I bought supervised olive oil from Persal and Yohannov.
By the way, kosher checks that it is kosher and not if the oil is original. For them put bananas in the oil.
Perhaps it is simpler to write which oils are not fake and contain pure olive oil. According to the article, it is forbidden to buy in supermarkets.
Joseph, if the oil is fake. What do you think that kosher is not fake? Everything is fake there. Everything on the label.
Life does not buy a product that is kosher. In my opinion, those who believe in kosher do not worry about the more important things such as hygiene and honesty. In short, I never come close to a kosher product - thank God!
Good for you. "Not kosher" and "thank God" go hand in hand with you... don't work on yourself. On others - you will not succeed
Jews are thieves, cheaters, there is a kosher stamp, but there is no olive oil, this is the reason that kosher should be outlawed because they don't have labs to test even kosher gum, it's money in a cheating scam
is that so?
"Cheating Jews"? Non-Jews are not cheaters?
Have mercy on you…
No one cheated me with fake oil.
For the simple reason that for several years now, I have made a vow that I will not buy olive oil.
And I keep it strictly.
