Front-rear accidents are accidents in which a vehicle collides with the front of the rear of the vehicle in front of it.

The data also shows that in 2020, 825 people were injured in front-rear accidents in the urban area, Nine people were killed, this is a significant increase compared to 2019, during which two people were killed in accidents of this type in the urban area. The city where the most people were injured in rear-end accidents in the last decade is Jerusalem in whose areas over 1,600 people were injured, after her Tel Aviv Jaffa and in it 1,463 victims and afterwards Haifa that in the city limits over 900 people were injured in accidents of this type in the last decade.

Accidents involving the front of a vehicle colliding with the rear of another vehicle can be fatal and cost human lives, and all this when a simple safety accessory installed in the vehicle can prevent them. There are autonomous safety systems that brake the vehicle independently and compensate for the driver's mistakes. The Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety must increase the incentives for installing those systems in order to have them in as many vehicles as possible and the number of accidents will decrease significantly. It is time to align with the most advanced countries in road safety in the world and act so that more and more new vehicles will arrive with autonomous braking systems that will prevent the next accident. If all the new vehicles are safer, in a few years even the parts of the population who cannot afford a new car will have a second-hand car in which life-saving safety accessories are installed.

The autonomous braking systems can stop the vehicle independently at low speeds and when the distance is not enough from the vehicle in front so that in a situation where the driver does not notice that he is dangerously close to the vehicle in front of him and that a collision is expected, the system can autonomously stop the vehicle, saving his life and the lives of other users the road.
