This year the bereaved families were allowed to come to the military cemetery on the day of remembrance for the fallen of the IDF.
Last year, as I remember, when the corona epidemic was in full swing and the information about it was weak, this painful day passed for the bereaved families and the entire country, between the walls of the houses.

He represented the Israel Police at the state memorial ceremony for the martyrs of Israel's systems and the victims of hostilities, at the Haifa cemetery, Coast District Commander, Superintendent Yoram Sofer, And it was attended by the representative of the government, representatives of the bereaved families, representatives of the IDF, the various organizations and more.

At the end of the Israel Police and Prison Service wreath-laying, Superintendent Sofer visited the graves of the Israel Police martyrs and spoke with the bereaved families.

Since the corona has not yet disappeared from our lives, compared to previous years, the audience's presence was limited. Those who are familiar with what happens on memorial days in the military cemeteries over the years, know that the overcrowding in them only increases from year to year. Those present are crammed to the limit, crammed into the spaces between the graves, silently and gently trying to find a tiny place to stand, for a moment to be close to the tombstone of their loved one.

Every year spaces are added, the grave plots multiply, new families join the circle of terrible bereavement. The generations are changing, grandparents and elderly parents stop coming, in their place come the grandchildren, the next generations, new families...

This year, many of the familiar faces, the ones we've gotten used to seeing grow up before our eyes with each passing year, were sorely missed by their absence.

Either way, wherever we are, the pain doesn't fade with the years, and the burning longing never lets up.
