Alex Zablinski
Meet the Sergeant Major of the Kfir Company in the 71st Battalion, Sgt. Alex Zablinski, outstanding president for 2021.
Alex is 22 years old and lives in Haifa. He immigrated to Israel at the age of 15 as part of a student program, and after immigrating he received a conscription order and decided he wanted to serve as a fighter in the Armored Corps.
In November 2018, Alex enlisted in the IDF for service in the Armored Corps and went through a course that included training at the Shizapon camp and then went through a course for MP staff in the rangers, after which he was assigned to the 188th Brigade, aka "Lightning Design".
Alex shares:
I really enjoy the job and am even thinking about a permanent military career for a few years. I always liked tanks, in Manila I asked for armor and I got armor. I love my company and battalion very much
About the honor he says: "My company commander informed me of the distinction while I was in line to receive a corona vaccine. It was very exciting and I jumped and was happy with the excitement with all the friends who were there with me.'
Alex's commander, Capt. Amiad Ayalon, tells about Alex:
Alex has been serving as a paratrooper in Company K for about four months. In 2015, Alex immigrated to Israel from Belarus, his country of birth, thus effectively leaving his country and family behind in order to live in the State of Israel. Alex describes the immigration to Israel as complicated due to the language and social difficulties he experienced during his stay In Israel. Within a few months, Alex learned the Hebrew language on Boria and began studying physics at the Technion in Haifa. Despite the difficulties and loneliness, Alex excelled in his studies and later decided to enlist in the 188th Brigade. Alex was assigned to the 71st Battalion as a fighter and excelled in his role while showing courage, determination and professionalism in operational activities and training. Alex is a first class fighter and serves as an example and role model among the company's fighters.
Good luck, we wish him the best of luck!
