The "Shavit" anchorage to the east of Haifa port, on the banks of the Kishon river, is used as a fishing port and as an anchorage for many private and commercial vessels.
The fishing anchorage was established in 1958 and since then it has undergone expansion and development and is used, as mentioned, as a marina for hundreds of vessels.
