The municipal kennel invites the public to adopt a dog and enjoy the accompaniment and guidance of a qualified veterinarian
The Municipality of Haifa is expanding the services provided in the new municipal kennel and invites the general public to adopt dogs instead
Sunday to Thursday from 08:00 to 14:30
and on Fridays until 12:00.
The doctors of the veterinary service will give every person who comes to the place guidance and help in the process of adopting the dog. The veterinarians will answer questions on medical issues, accompany the adoption process, and guide the efforts in everything related to dog breeding, starting with vaccinations required by law and recommended, treatments against worms, sterilization and castration of dogs and any question in the field.
For the adoption, the adopters will be asked to pay a symbolic price of 180.
Also, the breeders will be able to vaccinate and chip the dogs on the spot according to the rates of the Ministry of Agriculture and even perform sterilization or neutering surgeries at a cost of NIS 288.
The new kennel, which guarantees 5-star conditions for the animals staying there, was inaugurated about a year ago and it covers an area of about 2 dunams, with 100 large and spacious cells for dogs and cats, offices for veterinarians and reception rooms.
The kennel was built to the highest standards, while giving maximum attention to the welfare of the animals and the service provided on site to the residents of the city. After years in which the municipal kennel operated in a Ministry of Agriculture facility that no longer met the needs of the animals, the municipality made it their goal to take care of the welfare of the dogs and built a new, modern facility that was adapted to the standards that the municipality established for the proper treatment of animals.
The kennel is accessible to the disabled public and includes, among other things: a ventilation system, an excursion yard, a primary care clinic, food warehouses, a doctor's room, and a multi-purpose foyer that will be used as a classroom for students and as a lecture room for proper education on the relationship between humans and animals and on the issue of animal adoption.
The director of the veterinary service in Haifa municipality Dr. Dagan: "We train because it is our duty to ensure the best conditions for every dog and to try to ensure that every stray dog finds a warm and loving home. The dogs brought to the kennel receive professional care and food and cleanliness at the highest level. The treatment includes treatment against skin parasites, ticks and fleas, and regular medical follow-up."
