Many families of children with cancer who are hospitalized at Rambam and undergo very difficult treatments, have to travel every day to their home, which is often located far from the hospital. At the "Lev Hesh" association from Haifa, everything is done to make it easier for them.
The hotel project, which is intended to house families of children with cancer who come for daily treatments at the Ruth Children's Hospital in Rambam, was launched in March 2019 in an impressive and moving ceremony, during which the cornerstone was laid. The completion of the construction works and the opening of the hotel is expected towards the end of 2021.
In a lively conversation, she said Dekla Cohen Michaeli, CEO of the Lev Hash Association On the construction stages of the place, the anticipation of the opening of the hotel and more.

The construction of the skeleton is over and now we are in the final stages. The works are expected to be completed in about a year and the opening time is estimated towards 2021. This is a unique project and the only one of its kind in the north, which serves Rambam, which itself serves 12 hospitals and residents from all over the northern region, on the order of 2 million residents.
to be a home for them
The goal is to be a home for the children and their families, who undergo very difficult daily treatments, so that they do not have to make the trip back and forth every day, to their home, which is often found in a distant place. With the help of the hotel, they will be able to stay near the hospital. The hotel will have 15 guest rooms, a lovely garden and a holistic treatment center for children and families, which will provide mental and physical support for both children and parents, through various holistic treatments such as art therapy and more. The goal is, among other things, to reduce stress and anxiety during the difficult period they are going through. The place should be for the children an anchor of joy and a source of strength for recovery, as well as an anchor for families, who are in a stressful and anxious time.
Haifa residents are invited to volunteer
This project is a Haifa project, a significant part of its goal is to draw the Haifa audience to come and volunteer, since the "Lev Hesh" association that operates it, is based on volunteerism and donations and operates a set of volunteers, over 90 permanent volunteers and about 1000 more who volunteer from time to time.
You can of course continue to donate to the hotel project by phone 04-8672999 or through a website Lev Hesh Association. You can also donate a room, where the name of the donor will be recorded. Yes, smaller donations can be made.
In addition, as part of the project "Circle for Good", it is possible to request that the donation go to the benefit of "Heart Heart" and indicate that the donation is intended for the hotel.

Lev Hesh Association Haifa
Michaeli Cohen Says that there is another amazing project. This is a mentoring project, in which the association's volunteers accompany children with cancer or those with other serious illnesses, which require long hospitalizations and difficult treatments. The volunteers accompany the children and their siblings and bridge social and educational gaps that arise as a result of the disease. This is a project that is operated both at Rambam and at other hospitals. In addition, an association heart felt operates a social cafe within the oncology department at Rambam, where they distribute coffee and pastries to families.
It is important to note that for the establishment of the hotel, which is an initiative of the Lev Hesh association, nearly 12 million shekels were raised, with most of the money coming from a generous donation of Fatal family, and generous assistance from the National Insurance Funds, the Municipality of Haifa and many other donors.

To the members of the association, you are doing an important job for the families and the patients.
I appreciate and support you and hope to send a donation soon.
You moved me very much.
I wish a complete recovery for everyone.. Amen.
