Yehuda Barkan Park will be established in Kiryat Bialik
The park will cover an area of 12.5 dunams and will be the central park of the Naot Afek neighborhood.
Mayor Eli Dukorski and Chairman of the Naming and Commemoration Committee Attorney Hadas Tzur concluded that the central park in the Naut Afek neighborhood will be named after the late Yehuda Barkan, an actor, director, producer and screenwriter who passed away a few days ago from the Corona virus.

In the coming weeks, the municipality of Bialik will start construction of the park. The park will cover an area of 12.5 dunams along the entire length of Shoshana Demari Street and will be the largest and central park in the Neot Afek neighborhood.
The park will include an impressive boardwalk throughout, a play area with state-of-the-art amusement facilities, an area designated for rest and relaxation, and many ornamental corners.
The park will join other parks built in the city in recent years, including Ariel Sharon Park, Eli Cohen Park, Esther Park, Habanim Park, Shimon Peres Promenade and Ben Gurion Promenade, which are visited by many residents all year round.

Mayor Eli Dukorski told Haifa:
We will bring our decision to name the new park after the late Yehuda Barkan to the approval of the Names and Commemoration Committee. The green spaces from which laughter and joy of life will erupt, will well symbolize Yehuda Barkan, the actor and the man who moved us for decades with his artistic work.
