Haifa neighborhood activists organize and establish an umbrella organization of Haifa neighborhood committees. They coordinate activities, meet with public figures and promote moves.
Watch the meeting the activists had with city council member Sophie Nakash, as part of the series of meetings:
Ziv Fishman, a social activist from Kiryat Haim, told Lahi Pa:
We the activists of the neighborhoods and committees have decided to join ranks and create collaborations and work together for the sake of the city of Haifa. We brainstorm together and hold a series of coordinated meetings in Haifa neighborhoods, with the aim of addressing and improving sore spots in the city.
We decided to organize as a group and host the members of the city council, in order to expand together the activities and collaborations for the city of Haifa, to learn and get to know the entire branched municipal system. The first meeting was held this week in the presence of council member Sophie Nakash, the chairman of our Haifa faction of Yona Yahav. It was an interesting, fascinating and insightful meeting and we hope that this is only the first swallow for joint action. And the next meeting will be in the presence of the Haifa Greens.

Well done to Sophie
Very good to meet you. Yaron's payment.

In my opinion, Haifa will be stronger without Kiryat Haim as a weight on it, and Kiryat Haim will also be able to unite with the other Kiryats in its true urban sequence and thus become much stronger.
Kiryat Haim and Kiryat Shmuel should act to become a separate city and immediately after that act for a full union with Kiryat Motzkin. In this way, a large, strong city of 80 inhabitants will be created that will be able to press for the evacuation of the tank farms and other pollution and develop the coastline in a way that the Haifa municipality has simply not been able to do for decades, neither in KH nor in the rest of Haifa.
I see the promenades that Dubai and Abu Dhabi have built in 5 years - kilometers of new, wide and luxurious promenades, here the Dado promenade is small and shabby, and Bat Galim is nothing to speak of at all, a scenic development of a concrete path and a few wooden poles with lighting like a book town.
Kiryat Haim is going to eat serious cake with the logistics city plan in the technical place. Huge warehouses up to 30 meters high (10 floors) will be the landscape of Kiryat Haim towards the south. The municipality of Haifa signs this contempt. It enables the scenic and economic destruction of Kiryat Haim. I think Haifa will also benefit if Kiryat Haim splits from it. There is really no urban continuity with Kiryat Haim and the need to maintain a huge neighborhood that the municipality sees as problematic simply creates permanent gaps in investment in it.
The neighborhood committees in Haifa and also in Kiryat Haim need to organize the public for this move.
