Absolute prohibition to stay on the beaches and bathe in the sea Haifa beaches

The Ministry of the Interior ordered the closure of bathing beaches due to the spread of the corona virus Thursday 01/10/20

According to the instructions of the Ministry of the Interior, which were passed on to the heads of the authorities and the managers of the municipal beaches, the municipality is required to take all the measures at its disposal, in order to enforce the ban on bathing and staying on the beaches.

According to the guidance of the Ministry of the Interior on the subject, the municipality must take, among other things, the following steps:
• Removing the flags from the rescue stations
• Increasing supervision and patrols on beaches to prevent bathing in the sea
• Placing signs prohibiting bathing without lifeguard supervision

It was also reported that the Haifa municipality was instructed to remove the flags from the lifeguard stations, increase supervision and patrols on the beaches to prevent bathing in the sea, and place signs prohibiting bathing without lifeguard supervision.

The original news in Hai Pa from 23/9/20:

Absolute prohibition to bathe in the sea on the beaches of Haifa Corona closure

A few days ago it was published in Hai Pa about the closure of beaches for bathing. Many citizens turned to the system to get clarifications

The Chai Pa system has a clear agreement with the coastal authorities, after many citizens contacted us in order to understand the nature of the regulations regarding bathing in the sea, during the current corona lockdown (the second lockdown, which lasts until 11/10/20). Indeed, bathing in the sea is completely prohibited, since the rescue services do not operate as usual. Even if the coast guard is present, or inspectors, they do not function as lifeguards as on normal days.

Bathing in the sea without supervision and without the supervision of a lifeguard is life-threatening!!!

See the document of the Ministry of the Interior, concerning the current corona closure period (holiday closure: 18/9/20-11/10/20) detailing the regulations regarding staying at the beaches:

  1. According to the regulations it is allowed to swim in the sea! That's why it's a shame and disgrace that they decided to "close" the sea.
What a degradation that inspectors and violent security guards from the beach patrol unit of the municipality of Haifa fight to remove people swimming in the sea. Harassing and threatening the residents of the city who swim in the sea. In their opinion surfing is allowed and swimming is not allowed. Don't know the instructions.
This is a serious violation of civil rights. No one gets infected with corona at sea, so this harm and the harsh enforcement is unjustified and unnecessary.

    • The problem is of course not the swimming itself but getting to the sea. This encourages people to come, by car and public transport which unnecessarily increases the infections. The emergency shelter is only intended for essential equipment and essential work. This is the rationale behind it, otherwise thousands would descend on the beaches and the infection would not be at the beach but upon arrival and return. Just like closed wardrobes at the beach, just like if there is a need for rescue, this requires breathing and creates an opening for infection and an unnecessary burden on the health services. In addition, it is clear In the cities there is a tendency for gatherings to sit together (say under an umbrella) for a long time creates contagion even in the open air.

  2. Why is it forbidden to bathe in the sea? No one said that you get infected with corona in the sea
Why is it forbidden to arrive in my private car alone for a sports activity????
I get infected in my car????
You with the delusional laws are causing the elderly population to become depressed
We will die from psychiatric problems and physical inactivity faster than the corona!!!!
    But you don't publish Se!!!!!
It's all politics and not derision for the old population!!!!

  3. OK . Even so, Haifa is a dead city at the moment! The only thing the residents of Haifa had was the fun accessible sea! In short, God bless and where are we going? when will it end Who will be left to tell something from this magical time?

  4. Every such instruction says: We want you to stick and start as much as possible!!! Don't go out into the open air, don't breathe fresh air, stay in your houses, love each other, live in a pressure cooker, nervously, depressed, and stop bothering us!!!! The next time you feel unwell, please contact the woman of the city, the qualified doctor you chose, she probably knows how to take care of you...

  5. Very good that they closed, Nirit Kopel - Wonderman.

  6. As it is written in the article, bathing is prohibited because there are no rescue services... and not because of the instructions because the instructions are contradictory. If it is allowed to be in playgrounds, there is no obstacle to being in the sea too!

  7. From the beginning, the fact that individual water sports activities were allowed created confusion among the public, or a good excuse to violate the ban and bathe in the sea, simply with a wetsuit, diving, or even snorkel goggles (also an individual sports activity). In short, the Israeli government is once again showing too much tenderness in the face of the public, who had a whole summer of attachment to enjoy the sea and sunbathe on the beach. If there is a closure, a closure must be carried out. Like in the playgrounds, if a child with Corona plays with three other children during the quarantine, and infects another child who infects another family, then what is the quarantine worth.

  8. What are these questions about bathing in the sea anyway? The ten days of judgment, Yom al-Din, Yom Kippur never entered the sea, in my opinion. What is your day?
They ask stupid questions. Why, how, and why. Questions over.

    • Is fishing allowed? It's a sporting activity for all intents and purposes and anyway we do it alone and at a distance from each other because of the wires, we'll be happy for an update thanks

    • This is not true, on the Pacific coast there are men's days and women's days, and if the eve of Yom Kippur falls on a women's day, it is changed so that men bathe on the eve of Yom Kippur. So you just said nonsense. The quiet religious beach is always open even during the holidays and is full of ultra-Orthodox bathers.
