Following the success of the first conference, which took place at the beginning of the year, the members of the Haifa Reporters' Chamber decided to turn the event into an annual tradition and launch the Haifa Media Conference number 2 - "Outside the Bubble".
The Haifa Media Conference "Outside the Bubble" 2015 is being held at the initiative of the Haifa Correspondents' Chamber and the University of Haifa - the Department of Communication, and in collaboration with journalists, speakers and media personnel from a variety of media and broadcasters from all over the country and especially from the north.
An organizing committee, including members of the top journalists in Haifa and the north, was established last week and began working in March with the University of Haifa and with other partners to plan the convention and build the program.

As last year, this year the conference will focus mainly on the periphery, its problems and the way it is covered, as well as the characteristics of journalistic work in covering the periphery and its differences from the center. The conference sessions will be attended by reporters, editors, speakers and members of the media - more or less known - from the national and local media, and prominent priority will be given to the people of the North.

Doron Scheffer, Chairman of the Haifa Correspondents' Chamber: "Last year's 'Outside the Bubble' conference was an impressive success, not only among journalists, speakers and media people, but also among communication students and full-fledged media consumers. The demand for its existence this year came from below, from the participants and consumers themselves - and we decided to respond to the challenge and make the gathering an annual event. There are many conferences and seminars in the field of journalism and communication, but the Haifa Media Conference 'Outside the Bubble' is the only one that deliberately focuses on the periphery and its characteristics, and also the only one whose organizers are the journalists themselves, those who live in the north and the north, crossing their legs every day between murder and accident scenes, hospitals and homes Elmin, press conferences and bereaved families, and bring with their talent and sensitivity the sights and sounds of the north to all the houses of Israel. Although the work on the convention is only in its beginning, it is already possible to guarantee that this year's convention will be richer, will include more diverse media and will also benefit from a high-quality academic quota."
The gathering will be held on Thursday, January 29, in Hecht Hall at Haifa University.
