Ursula Malbin, the sculptor who founded the famous sculpture garden in Haifa in 1978, has passed away. In the Haifa Sculpture Garden there are 29 bronze sculptures sculpted by Malbin.
Last night, Wednesday 4/6/20, she died at her home in Geneva - Switzerland, at the age of 103.

Malbin, was born in 1917 in Berlin, to a family of doctors. In 1939 she escaped to Geneva, Switzerland, she studied at the Swiss Academy of Art and thus began her artistic career. There she also met the sculptor Henri Picot and married him.
Melvin came to Israel in 1964 as a tourist and fell in love with the country. In 1967 she bought a residence in Ein Hod and since then she divides her time between Geneva and Ein Hod.
At the beginning of her journey, she started sculpting sculptures and placing them in the yard of her house, thus her house became a focal point for people who wanted to witness her works. As a result, she came up with the idea of establishing the Sculpture Garden in Haifa, thus allowing more people to enjoy her art. The 29 bronze sculptures placed in the garden, most of them figures of women, children and men, won Malbin various awards, the most important of which is the award of the French Academy of Arts.

Especially bless Haifa Mayor Rotem Kalish for initiating the sculpture garden, bringing Ursula Malvin to Haifa, and after her death making sure to call her every week...
May the memory of Ursula Malvin be blessed, as a resident of Haifa and an amateur photographer, she used to visit the beautiful sculpture garden from time to time, a source of pleasure for tourists who come from all over the country, I hope they don't steal the sculptures that were once there
