Blood of the Maccabees flower in Carmel Park. The red blood of the Maccabees is a symbol of the Day of Remembrance for the Martyrs of Israel. A sticker with the image of the plant is distributed on this day in schools, at memorial rallies and in cemeteries and is worn on the lapel of the garment. The bloom was photographed by Ran Peretz of the Nature and Parks Authority.
