Zionist personal column - Yaron Karmi's blog
The demonstration organized by a group of Arab extremists against the draft for national service and the IDF began.
The extremists take advantage of Haifa, as a quiet and tolerant city that symbolizes coexistence, and make a delusional display that has nothing to do with the civil service.

Zionism for me is an unceasing pursuit to build the Land of Israel, against all odds, for the well-being of all its inhabitants, with mutual respect for every citizen regardless of who he is: Jews, Arabs, Druze... all without exception.
As usual, the extremists are trying to spoil and sabotage any attempt to create a real coexistence here based on the integration and involvement of Israeli Arabs in Israeli activities. The extremists from among the Arab public are cynical people, who systematically harm the public in which they live.
From personal acquaintance with many citizens from among Israeli Arabs, Christians and Muslims, I can say with certainty that some of them are interested in taking part in contributing to the state, as citizens with equal rights and duties. But, such a move will not serve the extreme leaders on both sides, those who dance on the blood and make political capital out of it.
The extremists want more division, more violence and more blood, which will fuel their nationalist campaign and guarantee their place in the Knesset.
The level of pressure is increasing in the field, since the recruitment of the ultra-Orthodox began and talks began about the recruitment of Arabs. The exemption from VAT on the first apartment is also starting to create a benefit and a financial distinction between the state servants and the schemers.
If there was an iota of public responsibility among the Arab leaders, they would call for national service in the hospitals, among the needy and more. But why make an effort when you can go to study and also earn political capital by preserving the riots?
It's a shame that such a large public with such great potential is paying the price of hypocrisy.
The organizers prepared a group that dressed up as soldiers with red berets. A bunch of babies who have no idea how difficult it is to wage a war on terror while trying to preserve the dignity of the masses of citizens and their routines. When I see Umms walking around waving their plastic guns, it's clear to me how much they don't understand what it's like to own a gun and pray you never have to use it. A real soldier who knows what it's like to hold a weapon, would never represent such a harmful and despicable display.
They placed representatives of roadblocks, picket fences, stone fragments and forced Arabs.
In all my services in the territories, I never saw a girl forced, but on Ben Gurion Boulevard I did.

This is how they try to draw a clear line (information) between the violence in the territories, which is a direct product of terrorist acts, and their unwillingness, and some say, their laziness, to serve in national service or in the IDF while we donate 3 years of our lives to the country.
Zionist activists were absent
Usually in the demonstrations you see a Zionist representative who balances the picture.
At the beginning of the demonstration I did not see any representatives. Maybe they will come later.
The IDF in silk gloves:
As an officer who has served a lot in the territories, both regularly and as an MP in the reserves, I have always used silk gloves in the civilian population and so I have been careful with my subordinates as well. I have seen harsh scenes of a life of poverty in the shadow of Arab terrorism and I have always made sure that I and my soldiers ensure the safety and well-being of the residents of the territories, who are hiding among them The bloodthirsty terrorists.
Blood ruled the streets
Until 10 years ago, buses exploded here every week. Blood ruled the streets. Today the separation fence has created a state of relative peace and isolation from the world of terrorism which the Palestinian leaders are trying to preserve.
It is impossible to separate the things and present the Arabs as victims of the IDF. The Arab public is first and foremost a victim of the legitimization of extreme terrorism.
It is very difficult for me to accept this hypocrisy, the hypocrisy that forgets that soldiers are needed to prevent terrorist acts.

I haven't seen such a weak demonstration in years
