Hello to all who are interested in the development of Bat Galim in general and the residential project at the Behad site in particular.
Today the discussion on this issue was held in the district committee - Haifa district.
The topic of discussion was:
Following up on the completion of tasks that the committee assigned to the entrepreneurs and planners of the program, at its meeting about 5 months ago, which had to be completed within 3 months (most of them have been completed and submitted and are awaiting approvals).
Participated under the direction of the district commissioner, representatives of government ministries such as: transportation, health, environmental protection, army, etc., representatives of MMI - the initiators of the program, and the municipality / local committee - Hadva Almog, Ariel Weterman, Varda Liebman...

The issue of "affordable housing" has been resolved. 20% of the apartments will be up to 80 square meters for "affordable housing".
The chairman of the committee, who is in charge of the district - Major Bamil Yosef Mashalev, who is personally handling the copying of the BHD, announced a decision to copy it to its permanent place and not to the "temporary" one next to the polynomial. The realization could be "tomorrow morning" as he said. He asked the developer for a marketing schedule as soon as possible to promote the evacuation.
The subject of the hotel complex is not closed. In the place marked in the hotel plan (on the water line in the best place) there is an agreement between the mayor and the army on the establishment of a military academy for the navy - Admiralty. The city engineer said that there is still no program for this project and it is not yet known how much space is required for it and that there is no need to change the zoning designation, in order not to delay the deposit of the plan. He suggested that the change of zoning from hotels to brownfields to public buildings, (in part or in full) would be done within the framework of the local committee later. The chairman did not accept the city engineer's request and asked for a clear answer to this issue as well within a month. At the same time, he asked the army representative to examine an alternative location for the military academy in the spirit of TAMA 13/3 (the water line for the benefit of tourism and the public).
Hadva Almog said that the local committee's decision from yesterday is to support the plan and advance it.
The chairman concluded that this is a project of real importance to provide fast housing within the framework of the special committees established for this purpose. A plan for 1000 apartments in this plan out of 8000 in the whole country. He sees no signs that there is anyone who does not want to promote the plan. I left the meeting encouraged. I got the impression that things are moving towards realization quickly these days.
