The guests who arrived at Sportan on the evening of Thursday, 23/10/19, were greeted with a special reception that included a pink carpet and rich refreshments. The evening included moving stories of women who fought and some are still fighting cancer. Alongside the stories, there were singing and playing performances by Sharon Haziz, Liron Ramati and Doron Refali, accompanied by his band. The evening was hosted by Maya Fishel Russo. During the evening several speakers took the stage. You can see their words in the videos below this article. Some were photographed during the reception.
During the evening, there was an auction of photographs of the supermodel Monica Joseph, which were taken voluntarily by the fashion photographer, Ben Asif. The proceeds are a donation to the Gamani association.
Kobi Maimon - CEO of the Sportan chain
Kobi Maimon, CEO of the Sportsman, told Lahi Pa:
We hold events in the Sportan network for the community throughout the year, in all the centers in Israel. It's not just a chain of gyms. We see this involvement as a mission and hope that this evening we will be able to raise awareness for the early detection of cancer. If we manage to save one woman - we have done our part.

Inbar Ben-Dor, director of Sportsman Haifa, told Lahi Fe (presenter, Zaza Cohen):
I have been part of the Gamani group for several years. It is important to me to spread the good news of early detection - which saves lives. I hope that in our actions here at Sportan we will succeed in saving lives. I would like to thank Kobe Maimon, CEO of the Sportsman chain, for his support of this mission.
Zaza Cohen added: I was tested today, thanks to you.
Kiril Kartnik in Sportan Haifa
Kirill Kartnik, the personal adviser of Deputy Mayor David Etzioni, told Lahi Fa:
We stand here today to strengthen the 24 thousand women fighting cancer, a difficult and terrible war. I urge women to come and be tested for early detection which increases the chance of curing the disease.
Rabbi Dov Chion at Sportan Haifa
Deputy Mayor Rabbi Dov Hayon: A disease that claims many victims, in 2016 about a quarter of the deaths in Israel were attributed to cancer. 11,000 additional people every year in Israel are diagnosed as sick. Although knowledge about the disease increases every year, there is no substitute for early diagnosis, about 1,000 women in Israel die from breast cancer every year.
Miri Arbel tells about the pink lionesses
Miri Arbel told Lahi Pa:
During the surgery to remove the tumor, my chest muscles were severely damaged. We, the Pink Lionesses, row competitive dragon boats and build back up the damaged muscles. The group has 100 women, from all over the country. We train in the Sea of Galilee. This year we competed in Cyprus against healthy women and won.
Singer Merav Cohen talks about her battle with cancer
Merav Cohen told Lahi Pa:
I am a single mother of two lovely children. I work in the court and also a singer and actress. I fight, I don't lose hope and I will beat the disease. I urge women to go and get tested to catch the disease in its early stages as much as possible.

The singer Sharon Haziz talks about her battle with cancer in Sportan Haifa
Sharor Haziz told the audience at Sportan:
I got sick at the age of 36. Due to being famous, I decided to tell the public about my illness. When I arrived for treatments at the health fund, the doctors told me that following my story, many women came to be examined. This is my mission and I believe that the more we manage to convince women to come and get tested, the more we will save human lives.

Sarit Zaig from the Gamani Association talks about her battle with cancer
Sarit Zaig told her personal story to the audience:
What would you do if you were invited to go on an adventure, in which you would feel emotions you have never felt, have experiences you have never experienced, think thoughts you have never thought, the destination is unknown and during the journey you will have to make decisions about the rest of the way... We set out on such a journey.
Yiffit Alferson-Elmaleh from the Gamani Association talks about her battle with cancer
Yiffit Alferson Elmaleh from the Gamani Association told her personal story:
When I got to my little girl's school, I was bald. I decided to come bald to school. The children asked my daughter why her mother is bald. My daughter explained to friends that her mother has breast cancer, but she will recover. After my hair grew back, I went back to school and showed everyone that I had hair. I promised my daughter that I would fight and get sick, to give my daughter the greatest gift - a healthy mother. Not an eye in the audience was left dry.
