Swastikas and defacement of dozens of tombstones in the Haifa British Cemetery

Unknown persons vandalized on the night between Thursday and Friday (11/10/19) about twenty tombstones in the British Cemetery, located on Jaffa Street in Haifa. The guard of the cemetery recognized the vandalism on Friday morning and called the Israel Police. MZP investigators immediately arrived at the scene and collected findings at the scene. In this cemetery are buried soldiers who fell during the battles of the occupation of the Land of Israel by the British at the hands of the Ottomans, about a hundred years ago.

About the British Cemetery in Haifa

In the British cemetery in Haifa, soldiers are buried who participated in the battles in the city, when the British defeated the Ottomans and conquered the Land of Israel from their hands. At the end of the First World War, a heroic battle took place in Haifa Bay: a large force of Indian cavalry charged with spears and guns at the well-fortified Turkish artillery positions - and subdued them. The city of Haifa was freed from the burden of the Turkish occupation and passed into the hands of the British. 2 Indian commanders participated in the battle and received the "Hero of Haifa" decoration. For several years now, a memorial ceremony has been held in Rob Hadar with the Indian ambassador in Israel, military attachés from all over the world serving in the country.

  1. For me this is shocking news.
But who will draw swastikas on a British cemetery for soldiers killed in WWII?
Why suspect in advance that they are Jews?
    Maybe an Arab did it?
Who has an interest in removing tombstones in such an ugly way?

  2. Despicable scum without respect why destroy what the spaces have done to them shame and dishonor

  3. Shame and dishonor to the Jewish people. Those who do such a thing reach the lowest level of morality.

  4. Those who desecrate Jewish graves in Europe on a monthly basis should not be surprised.

  5. It is very interesting what our beloved Zaatara and his friends have to say on the matter, if at all they will address it!!!
