In the agreement, signed yesterday (Monday 01/07/19) with the lifeguards, it was agreed that the hours of activity on the beaches in Haifa will be extended until 20:00 p.m. Also, the municipality intends to operate three rescue stations during the entire winter period. This extension will allow a full response to the public bathing at the beaches in the city and to maintain their safety.
Mayor of Haifa, Dr. Einat Kalish Rotem:
I am very proud of the agreement, which I formulated personally with the lifeguards and all the relevant parties in the Haifa Municipality, and I am happy to announce that the Haifa Municipality today started a new era in the hours and conditions of rescue on the beaches, and it will continue to provide good services even during the winter.
Well done!
In past years, between six and eight in the evening there were thousands of bathers, including many children, without the supervision of a lifeguard.
