For the first time in Israel, a media conference will give a platform to journalists from the local media, peripheral reporters and photojournalists.
Moti Kirshenbaum, Haim Yavin and Yaakov Achimair will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Haifa journalist Amos Carmeli
Next Thursday (January 02.01.13, XNUMX) the media conference "Outside the Bubble" will be held in the Hecht Auditorium at Haifa University.
The conference was initiated by the Haifa Press Room and will mainly deal with the future of the local media and the poor coverage of the periphery in the national media.
The conference is expected to be attended by hundreds of journalists, media people and communication students who will come from all over the country and it will be broadcast live on the "The Marker" website.
At the center of the conference, the press chamber will present an award of recognition to SNA Yehuda Maman, the legendary police spokesman who is taking off his uniform this year, and a lifetime achievement award to journalist Amos Carmeli, a former reporter for Channel 1 in Haifa. The special award will be presented to him by the three tenors of Israeli television: Haim Yavin, Moti Kirschenbaum and Yaakov Achimair
Among the participants in the panels: Shai Golden and Tali Metz from Channel 2, Robi Hammershlag and Sharon Perry from Channel 1, Aharon Lapidot, deputy editor of "Israel Hayom", Danny Nischalis, CEO of Radio Haifa and a member of the city council, Zuhair Bahlul, Noam Amir from Radio North, Rami Shani, reporter Galach in the south and many more.
Avi Namani, Eli Gutman, coach of the national team, Izzy Sharetzki, owner of Ironi Kiryat Shmona, and journalists Yoni Hilleli and Gadi Ness will participate in the sports panel that will moderate the conference.
The chairman of the press office, Eliran Tal, former reporter for "Yediot Haifa" and currently reporter for Haifa and the North on Channel 1: "In this conference we put the periphery in the center. For the first time, a national conference will give a respectable stage to journalists from the local media, reporters from the north and south who are not defined as "talents", photographers and important and interesting media people who have something to say and it is important to hear them. The purpose of the conference is not only to flood the problems but also to think about solutions and streamlining the work of field journalists. We are in the moment of truth for the press in Israel, so I call on all my colleagues to come to the conference because this will make a very important statement."
The conference is open to the general public, it is recommended to register in advance on the Facebook page of the Haifa Communication Conference.
