Avishi Kafir - director, screenwriter and producer He finished his television and film studies in New York over thirty-five years ago (1978-1982). When he returned to Israel, he insisted on going back to live in Haifa, even though he started his career on the first channel in Jerusalem in the TV show 'Tazfit'. At the same time, he founded a production company that works to this day with all the high-tech, bio-tech industries all over the country. The documentaries that Avishi produced and directed were broadcast on television stations in Israel and all over the world and were also screened at many festivals abroad. Avishi was the chairman of the Documentary Makers Forum, the program director of the Israeli History Channel, the director of the Haifa Cinematheque and produced the Haifa International Film Festival (2007-2005) ).

These days Avishi is working on two TV series: one is a suspense drama that focuses on the relationship between the polluting Gulf industries and the city's residents and the other is a docu-series about Israeli entrepreneurs who have been very successful in places very far from Israel. Avishi has also recently finished writing a script for a comedy set in Bat Galim in the 1990s, the production of which will begin soon.

In a column on the Hai-Pa website, Avishi will present short stories about people and places in Haifa that make our special city what it is. Like for example the series 'Haifai with passion'.
Like many Haifaites, I am crazy about this city and know its advantages and disadvantages very well. Beyond Carmel and the beautiful bay, Haifa's human capital is in my eyes our most significant asset and it is what makes it such a special city. Since what I know how to do is tell stories with the tools I know, I would be very happy to share with the public through the Hai-Pe website and tell the story of Haifaim that I think deserve to be told and from here we will flow together...

One talented man who writes and interests an entire city. It is worthwhile and there is something to look forward to.
