The call of the national fire commissioner to avoid lighting fires or alternatively to make small shared fires fell on attentive ears. In Haifa, children, teenagers and adults celebrated LJ Baumer throughout Haifa and did so responsibly • Fire and rescue headquarters in Hof district reported: "No unusual events were recorded this year"
"With the smaller bonfires, we enjoy it even more than every year" said parents in the traditional LG B'Omer complex of the community school in Ein Hayam. Indeed, there was no need to bother with dragging tree cuttings, planks of all kinds to create a huge bonfire from which everyone suffocates and is unable to approach to the fire to put potatoes in and take them out due to the high heat. Another advantage of the small fires is control over them and an easier and faster option to turn them off.
In Romma they celebrated at a community event, when Tali Levi Harel, chairman of the parents' committee of the Romma Nigunim school, said:
"All that is needed is people.
All that is needed is people with desire.
When there are people with desire and initiative, then a whole community, schools and kindergartens meet and celebrate Lag Baumer together.
There was thinking here about preserving tradition, thinking about sustainability and environmental quality and also about togetherness and fun.
So there was one common fire.
There was an excellent performance by the talented Michal Rosenblum, there was a stunning performance by the champion Irit Muller, there was the professional female lead Orly Sela who brought the one and only Sahar Sela.
And the Olim camps - Romema camp led by Tirtzah Hebron which operated both the children and the Sage
And there were mothers who took the initiative to make dough, also gluten-free.
And parents who carried planks and mats and tables and prepared refreshments and lockers because it is impossible without.
And it was great!"

In Bat Galim they settled for small bonfires as instructed by the commissioner. In an open area, away from flammable objects, they set up small and even tiny bonfires.

Advocacy work done by teachers among middle school and high school students brought worthy results:
The 2th grade students from the XNUMXst city school decided that for them there is no problem in completely giving up a bonfire of any size and preferred to gather around the barbecue and prepare a meal "over the fire" according to their taste.
Yes, this is the second year in a row, in which there was a restriction on the lighting of bonfires in Omer. As I recall, in 2018 there was a complete ban on the lighting of bonfires, large and small. The Haifa Municipality activated a drone to locate bonfires throughout the city and sent teams to enforce the order.

The Maduros, they have no support either in the Orita (Torah) or according to Darbanan (the rabbis) and here they managed to convince many that it is also possible otherwise.
It has been proven that it is possible to think outside the box, celebrate judiciously, preserve as much as possible the quality of the environment and still enjoy Lag Baumer celebrations with fun but also responsibility.
From the fire and success headquarters in the Hoof district, it was delivered to Lahi Pa:
Throughout the evening and night, many teams of firefighters worked in all areas of the district to ensure the peace of those celebrating at the LJ Ba'Omer bonfires. Preliminary preparatory work in cooperation with the local authorities in which the designated areas for lighting the bonfires were defined and the fire commissioner's order which established special conditions in light of the weather forecast led to a decrease significant in the number and scope of the fires.
Overall No unusual events were recorded As a result of the bonfires being lit, the firemen worked at night and so now for the final extinguishing of bonfires.
Under the direction of the district commander, Tafser Aryeh Regev, the increased deployment of the forces will continue until Friday (inclusive), both for the purpose of continuing to extinguish abandoned fires and in light of the Sharabian weather forecast.
"Such weather conditions combined with abundant vegetation as a result of the winter blessed with precipitation are a fact that it is our duty to take into account and prepare optimally for it" stated Regev.
