A great success was recorded for the "Gin Walks 2019" festival in Haifa, which this year was much more diverse and interesting than previous years.
The project team told Lahi Fe that, this year, the variety of Gin walks was much larger, 34 walks in number led by 46 speakers, when everything was done in cooperation and volunteering. The content of the walks included, among others, architecture, society and politics, literature and poetry. The walks were civil and non-institutional - intimate and small walks to large walks in diverse neighborhoods and hotspots, among others (Wadi Salib, Ein Hayam, Wadi Al-Jamal, Neve David, the Old Carmel, Hadar, Shuk Talpiot, Wadi Shih and more).
The walks were crowded In meetings, experiences and new discoveries of the city, in which more than a thousand people participated, from Haifa as well out of town. The Global Jane Walks project took place in Toronto in 2006 in major cities around the world and in Israel in honor and memory of Jane Jacobs (2006-1916), one of the original and most influential formulators of contemporary thinking about urbanism and city planning.
