On the occasion of the centenary year of the scout movement in Israel, the movement chose to honor the municipality of Haifa. Today, a delegation of Boy Scouts representatives presented a special gift to the mayor of the city, Einat Rotem Kalish, in a festive and exciting meeting at her office
This year the Scout movement celebrates 100 years of its activity in Israel, and does so with a variety of special events and activities - for the movement's trainees as well as the general public. The movement, which began its activities in Israel in 1919 and is considered one of the oldest scout movements in the world, is today the largest youth movement in Israel: 90 thousand youths participate in the movement's activities every year, in more than 200 tribes spread all over the country (and at sea). As part of the events of the centenary year, the movement is organizing a project The recognition to the local authorities, in the framework of which over 200 movement tribes appreciated the cooperation with the municipalities and councils in which they operate. As part of the special day, the Mayor of Haifa Einat Kalish met today with the trainees of the scout tribe in the city and with the representatives of the movement led by the secretary general of the movement Kelly Cohen, who gave her and the municipality a special gift to mark many years of fruitful and valuable cooperation.
Kelly Cohen, Secretary General of the Scout Movement: "One hundred years of valuable activity is no small thing, and the centenary year is our opportunity to also thank all the partners in the long journey, which of course is far from over, and the local authorities are among them. I wish all of us at least another 100 years of shared valuable activity"
