"Border Guard" officers came to the Yad Ezer association to celebrate the 92nd birthday of Shlomo Sherzer, a Holocaust survivor from Romania
This morning, (Wednesday 23/01/19), the excitement at the social club of the "Yad Ezer Ha'ber" association in Haifa was tremendous and enormous, right in the early hours of the morning, a large group of "Border Guard" police officers of Unit 306 MG left all their routine and important police tasks. At the beach, they took a break from all their operational activities in order to come to a special and exciting meeting, they came to rejoice with singing and dancing and to meet Shlomo Scherzer, a Holocaust survivor from Romania, who is celebrating his 92nd birthday. Shlomo is a resident of the "Housing Home for Holocaust Survivors" of the association "Yad Ezer Heber" in Haifa. The group of "Border Guard" officers who arrived under the command of Major Eli Peso worked day and night for the success of the exciting birthday party, they kept it a secret and surprised Holocaust survivor Scherzer, they brought him a large birthday cake Specially baked by the police officer of the unit and more surprises, the coordinator of the social club of the association "Yad Ezer Habev" Mrs. Naomi Iloz shared the secret of the surprise party with the members of Scherzer's close family and acquaintances who also came to celebrate together with him. Shlomo was told that he was supposed to come to the club for the purpose of giving a lecture to school students, since he always does so willingly and responded positively to a book about the Holocaust period for the benefit of future generations.
