Residents living on Tamar Street turned to Lahi Fe following the unbearable situation they found themselves in following the renovation of the sidewalks in the section of the street that was included in the renovation of the Derech Hayam area.
According to the residents, the renovation of the sidewalks has been underway for four months and they suffer from a parking shortage and continuous dust that forces them to stay in their houses with the windows closed. The contractor's workers on behalf of the municipality dug and have not yet continued their work. The residents complained to the municipality hotline, but their complaints were not answered. According to them, the quality of life has decreased and life has become unbearable and that this situation cannot continue.
Haifa Municipality gave a response to Haifa:
"The restoration of "Hatamer" street is being carried out in light of many requests from the residents of the street who were directed to the Public Inquiries Division and at a "round table" meeting held in the neighborhood - to include the street in the framework of the restoration and renewal of the public space in the center of Carmel - Derech Hayam. We are aware of the inconvenience and inconvenience caused to the residents during complex works in the scope So extensive. In light of this understanding, the municipality works while informing the public in every possible way to reduce the damage to the routine of life and to avoid blocking roads, a fact that extends the duration of the works. In the meantime, the works on the street will be completed by the end of the month after it was not possible to work for most of September due to the holidays. An answer in this spirit was also given to the only request received in the Public Inquiries Division on the subject."
